Navaratri -dashavatara-dolls

Step 1:
1.Bought a small sewing kit
2.Downloaded the patterns from http://dollmaker.nunodoll.com/boy/pattern.html
3. Got the print outs of all the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu

Step 2:
Prepared the face using the Plaster Of Paris (P.O.P) with the help of a silver mold of the Goddess Parvati ( ಗೌರಿ ಮುಖವಾಡ ) which is being worshiped in our house since ages. .


Step 3:This is how it looked when the customized doll patterns were stitched and reversed.
 Step 4:
We filled all the ten patterns with polymer filler.They are able to stand with the support of the wall


 Step 5 :
We used artificial stones to make ornaments
 Step 6:
A. We made firm bases using P.O.P with the help of serving bowls as the mold
B. Put on the stitched "ಕಚ್ಚೆ ಪ೦ಚೆ"
C. Inserted a thin wire through the neck to till the end of the base ( Now they were able stand without the help of the wall)

Step 7:
A.Attached the faces and the arms to the body structure

. Colored eyes, lips and the whole body structure


Step 8:
A: Decorated with the ornaments and ಶಲ್ಯ shalya ( a piece of cloth that covers the upper part of the body)

Step 9:  
A.This is how it looked finally!! huh..
B. Attached artificial hair
C. Added weapons , instruments, ಶ೦ಖ , ಚಕ್ರ, flute , etc
 
D.Coloured the base
